Took a trip up to Prescott on New Year’s Day to visit with my buddy and fellow American Muscle Conspiracy member Danimal…
On the way up, in Wickenburg, we saw this Model A:
Over near my friend’s house, there’s a sculptor who displays his work for sale out in his yard. Here’s a few examples:
And last, but not least, gassing up on the way out of town, this Spirit pulled into the place. Talk about a survivor…
The guy was a little upset at me taking pictures at first, but I just pointed at my Gremlin. Once I introduced Molly Blue, he told me his car’s name is Shelley McGelley, and she is his third Spirit. Before that he had Curb Checking Oscar Madison, and a car with no name. He told me his girlfriend had a Gremlin she called Lois Lane Changer. He said you just can’t kill a Rambler, and wouldn’t own anything else. This particular car is believed to have exceeded a million miles. It’s loud, but runs strong. I told him about my web site, and he’s interested in parts, but that’s all. He’s really not a car guy, more of a hippy sort of guy.
If you look through the windows on the Spirit in the picture from the front, you can see Molly Blue sitting at the gas pump in the background.
